The Housing First Fund
The Mountainland Continuum of Care has a pool of money called the Housing First Fund that is used exclusively to help get the homeless into homes of their own. This money was initially raised by citizens of Utah County and then expanded to cover Wasatch and Summit Counties, and covers the unexpected and unfunded expenses that pop up to help homeless individuals and families pay for things like application fees, past due rent or utilities, birth certificates, etc.
Why is this unique? |
This fund is accessible by case managers at any homeless service provider in the Mountainland Continuum of Care. 100 percent of the money raised or donated for this fund go to moving expenses to get people off the street. There's no administrative taken out, no fees, or anything else. It goes directly to the creditor on behalf of the homeless individual or the family.

How to donate: |
Our fund is managed with United Way of Utah County, although they are not able to use these funds- they simply hold them and disperse them for case managers in the CoC. You can donate here. Select "Housing First Fund" as your campaign and enter your information. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the homeless in our community.
